He holds a Ph.D. in Management from Walden University, USA; an MBA from Benedictine University, USA; and a BA in Business Administration from Governors State University, USA. He has also earned prestigious executive certifications from global institutions, including a Fintech Certificate from Harvard University, a Design Thinking Certificate from MIT, and an Executive Certificate in Entrepreneurship from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
With over two decades of professional experience, Dr. Akande has worked at high-level executive positions across several industries, including education, aviation, finance, hospitality, and technology. His impressive corporate résumé includes roles at internationally renowned organizations such as Accenture (North America), the United Nations Foundation, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Cisco Systems, Royal Caribbean, Marriott, HSBC, Northern Trust Bank, CUNA Mutual Group, State Farm Insurance, BlueCross BlueShield, American Family Insurance, Dow Chemicals, TD Canada Trust, LTL Financial USA, and Westview Construction and Development Inc. Despite his global success, Dr. Akande remains deeply rooted in his Nigerian heritage and is committed to addressing educational challenges in his home country.
Little wonder his passion found way for him and he took the bold step of advancing the frontiers of education in Nigeria, by establishing a world class polytechnic where minds are regenerated, skills are ignited and ideas are conceived.
